WOW

Windows of the World theme park in Shenzhen is filled with sites. Beyond the replicas of over sixty wonders of the world, hourly performances in the Africa, Polynesia, South Asia, Native America, and other Villages give visitors an introduction to world cultures. For instance, in the Africa Village, park workers in wigs teach the audience how to drum and walk on stilts. Maori impersonators teach the world "Aloha" and dance while grunting and sticking out their tongues frequently. There is also a neighboring park that contains all of the wonders of China, and with performances of ethnic minority groups. This is all so ripe for someone's anthropology dissertation that I could barely contain myself.

This guy in the middle was so over the top that he completely undermined the suspension of disbelief that the park tried to instill. He acted so cynically that I convinced myself that he was American and made up all kinds of stories about how he came to work as a dancer in SZ.

The arc only appears to be larger than the average Shenzhen highrise. Really, basically anything in SZ is taller.

Photos of park performers superimposed on Pyramid images??? Display outside of the African village

The Golden Gate Bridge. This is really impressive because it's outside of the park.
Shenzhen, New York skylines. Notice towers.

For a fee, world travelers can dress up in local garb.

Niagra Falls. Do any falls experts know what makes this distinguishable from any other falls?
A lot of America all in one place

While I'm on WOW, the casinos in Macau are massive. This is the Venetian, where I won about $2, which makes it not as cool as the Grand Lisboa, where I won $15.

This building is really real: the oldest lighthouse in China (Macau).
